Editorial policies

Corrections policy.

Accuracy is an obligation. When GCC Media gets something wrong, we correct the record clearly and proportionately.

01

How we correct

Corrections are based on the significance of the error, not on who requests the change.

Material errors

Errors that change the meaning, accuracy, fairness, or conclusion of a story are corrected promptly. The article receives a dated editor’s note explaining the substantive change.

Minor edits

Spelling, punctuation, formatting, or other non-substantive copy edits may be corrected without a formal note when they do not change the meaning of the article.

Clarifications

When published information is accurate but may reasonably be misunderstood, we may add context and identify the update as a clarification.

Updates

Developing stories may be updated as new verified information becomes available. Significant additions are identified with the date of the update.

02

What we do not do

No favorable rewriting

We do not alter accurate reporting because a subject, advertiser, client, access provider, or organizer dislikes the framing or conclusion.

No silent material changes

Substantive corrections are not made invisibly. Readers should be able to understand what changed and why.

Removal is exceptional

Published work is not normally deleted. Removal is considered only for compelling legal, safety, privacy, or ethical reasons.

Evidence matters

Correction requests should identify the exact statement at issue and provide reliable documentation or firsthand information supporting the request.

03

Request a correction

Email press@gccmedia.net with the article URL, the passage at issue, the proposed correction, and supporting evidence. We review requests directly and respond when additional information is needed.

Accountability

The purpose of a correction is not to erase a mistake. It is to leave the public record more accurate than we found it.

Effective July 2026.
